Perkiomen Valley Trout Unlimited

is a cold water conservation organization protecting streams in the Perkiomen Watershed.

We are...

200 anglers in the Upper Perkiomen Valley. We are committed to protecting the cold water resources of the Perkiomen Valley. This watershed drains square miles and is the largest tributary to the Schuylkill River.

Letter from the Chapter President:

WE NEED YOUR PARTICIPATION AT THE JUNE 17TH PERKIOMEN VALLEY TROUT UNLIMITED MEETING.

Mark Stannard, Conservation Chairman, and I believe, as members of TU, there is nothing more important than the protection and restoration of our waterways and together we will be presenting on issues relating to current and future PVTU stream restoration projects within the watershed and how they'll benefit you.

1. Mark will be updating members on permitting challenges we're facing on the Hosensack, before/if we can proceed with the actual work on this project.

2. Mark & I will jointly be presenting future projects (near/long-term) on the main branch of the Perkiomen, the Hosensack and several tributaries adjacent to & north of Route 100 on farms having wild trout streams on their properties, some of which PVTU worked on in years past, and which now require remediation. We'll inform members at this meeting of two we have already committed PVTU to.

If these topics do not create enthusiasm within you to attend this meeting, then I'd suggest you stop pretending you have an interest in conservation, as the health of the watershed is the responsibility of all the members, not just a few. In 2017, this chapter was on the brink of being closed by PA State Council, and now, two years later, our member participation is still poor. We had four people attend last month's meeting out of over 250 members. This is pathetic and this lack of interest will surely lead to the dissolution of the chapter!!
